After a few years I threatened my husband with the thought/suggestion of leaving the tree up year round and decorating it for the monthly holiday or season. He laughed at me and then I didn't have to ask him to try to get the decorations down and put away right after the New Year. But this year...he purposely left the tree up, saying "Go ahead!"
So, after every thing was put away I stood there thinking about the only holiday in January, MLK Day. I solicited suggestions from friends on Facebook since I could have just left the tree white and silver from the New Year but had already taken the decorations down. I had suggestions of a very colorful tree to burgandy and gold, the colors of his almamata. But in the end felt I couldn't do the late doctor justice. So, this Scottish/Irish girl let the holiday pass. Hopefully I can do something worthy next year.
Soon after my six year old started bugging me about Valentine's Day. So, here is the first tree post of 2019. I didn't want to be to cliche. Let me know what you think!
